Job summary

Merck seeks a Clinical Director (Principal Scientist) to lead clinical research in Oncology, Hematology. You will oversee study design, initiation, execution, analysis, regulatory reporting, and publication for medicines from pre-clinical to post-licensure.

You will collaborate with regulatory affairs, statistics, manufacturing, and commercialization, driving program success while maintaining scientific excellence and external collaborations. Remote-friendly, with global responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of clinical medicine experience.
• Minimum of 1 year of industry experience in drug development or biomedical research experience in academia.
• Board Certified or Eligible in Oncology, Hematology or related discipline.
• Demonstrated record of scientific scholarship and achievement.

Responsibilities

• Plan clinical trials and collaborate on operational plans based on development strategy.
• Medical oversight and overall conduct of ongoing or new clinical trials.
• Analyze and summarize findings to support safety, efficacy, and regulatory decisions.
• Participate in internal and external research teams related to development of compounds.
• Support business development assessments of external opportunities.
• Engage with cross-functional teams to manage study execution and progress.
• Travel about twenty percent of the time to manage projects.
