Job summary

Merck is seeking a Clinical Director (Principal Scientist) to lead planning and execution of oncology clinical research, spanning preclinical to post-licensure. You will oversee trial design, safety monitoring, regulatory reporting, and publications, in hematology, across multiple programs.

The role requires MD or MD/PhD, 3+ years clinical medicine experience and 1+ year in drug development, with strong communication and cross-functional leadership.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of clinical medicine experience.
• Minimum of 1 year of industry experience in drug development.
• Proven record of scientific scholarship and achievement.
• Strong interpersonal and written communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to function effectively in cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Plan and direct clinical trials across development stages.
• Provide medical oversight of ongoing and new trials.
• Analyze and summarize clinical findings to support safety, efficacy and regulatory decisions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in commercialization, regulatory affairs, statistics, and manufacturing.
