Job summary

World Meteorological Organization (WMO) is seeking expert input for the GCF SAP project led by UNIDO to support early warning systems in Mauritania. The assignment involves coordinating with ONM, DHB, CNRE, and DAT to develop costed action plans and draft submission materials for the GCF Board.

The consultant will contribute to institutional strengthening, staff training, and equipment planning, with travel to Nouakchott as needed. Fluency in French and English is required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in meteorology, hydrology, climatology, early warning or related field.
• Experience with developing GCF proposals is an advantage.
• Excellent knowledge of French and English (oral and written).

Responsibilities

• Develop costed action plans with project teams.
• Provide draft sections and technical inputs for the submission package by planned dates.
• Prepare responses to the GCF Secretariat and ITAP comment matrices.
• Coordinate with UNIDO and national meteorological/hydrological services.
