Job summary

Next Ventures partners with a US-based company to hire a CLI Developer/Tooling Engineer on a fully remote 12-month contract. The role focuses on designing AI-powered workflows, distribution pipelines, and telemetry to empower thousands of engineers in API quality governance.

Responsibilities include building production-grade CLI tools, plugin architectures, cross-platform distribution, and release pipelines, with strong emphasis on telemetry, analytics, and tool integrations across GitHub,

Qualifications

Proficient in Golang and TypeScript/Node.js with production-grade CLI experience.
Strong understanding of software packaging, distribution, and release engineering.
Experience with telemetry, analytics, and usage instrumentation in developer tools.
CI/CD automation and artifact management experience.
Background in AI-assisted tooling or API governance is a plus.

Responsibilities

Design production-grade CLI tools using Golang/TypeScript for API governance and developer workflows.
Create extensible plugin architectures and SDKs for internal and external consumers.
Implement cross-platform distribution strategies for macOS and Windows.
Build release pipelines, installers, and auto-update mechanisms with versioning.
Implement telemetry frameworks to measure adoption, usage, performance, and engagement.
Integrate with GitHub, GitLab, CI/CD, IDEs, and developer portals to streamline workflows.
