Wilson Elser is seeking an experienced Claims Management & Coverage Counsel to join our national team. This role focuses on sophisticated claims management, insurance coverage analysis, and risk assessment across professional liability lines.

You will manage a caseload from inception to resolution, coordinating with clients, carriers, and outside counsel. The position offers remote or hybrid work flexibility, with potential placement in any state where Wilson Elser has an office, and requires

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited Law School and licensed to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 5+ years of legal practice experience in the insurance area.
• Experience handling complex insurance claims and evaluating coverage issues across professional and specialty liability lines.
• Experience drafting coverage opinions, reservation of rights letters, and coverage denial letters is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage a claims caseload from notification through resolution.
• Evaluate coverage, liability and damages issues for professional, employment, real estate, and D&O matters.
• Draft reservation of rights and coverage denial letters.
• Monitor claims and develop handling and resolution strategies.
• Coordinate outside counsel to obtain optimal resolutions.
• Prepare client reports with exposure analysis and reserve recommendations.
• Interact with clients, carriers, and outside counsel regularly.
