Job summary

Sedgwick seeks a seasoned Claims Advisor specializing in Professional Liability, D&O, EPL, and E&O liability claims. You will analyze complex exposures, conduct investigations, and negotiate settlements with appropriate authority while coordinating defense with attorneys and maintaining client relationships.

Strong communication, documentation, and cost containment skills are essential, along with a track record of guiding teams and improving outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Ten years of complex claims management experience or equivalent
• JD or Masters degree preferred or equivalent
• Licenses as required
• Professional designations such as AIC/CPCU/ARM/AIC preferred

Responsibilities

• Analyzes and processes complex D&O, EPL and E&O liability claims, investigating to determine exposure.
• Conducts or assigns full investigations and provides reports.
• Negotiates settlements up to designated authority level.
• Calculates reserves and monitors reserve adequacy throughout claim life.
• Recommends settlement strategies and structured settlement proposals as needed.
• Performs coverage analysis and related correspondence.
• Coordinates legal defense by assigning attorneys and reviewing invoices.
• Uses cost containment techniques including vendor partnerships to reduce claim cost.
• Identifies fraud, subrogation, and recovery opportunities.
• Represents the company in depositions, mediations, and trial monitoring.
• Communicates claim activity with clients and maintains professional relationships.
• Ensures claim files are properly documented and claims coding is correct.
• Refers cases to supervisor and management.
• Delegates work and mentors others.
