Qualifications

• Active Professional Engineering license required.
• Degree in civil or structural engineering.
• Experience with forensic investigations for buildings and structures.
• Ability to access roofs, attics, crawl spaces for inspections.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and perform site inspections within 5–7 days.

Responsibilities

• Conduct investigations of accidents or disasters to determine causes and contributing factors.
• Evaluate structural or water damage from natural disasters such as earthquakes, hurricanes, wind events, hail or floods.
• Ensure proper maintenance and construction of affected building components and systems.
• Safely access roofs, attics and crawl spaces to photograph areas of interest.
• Identify and interview witnesses and other key parties involved.
• Prepare findings and recommendations for insurance claims or litigation.
