Job summary

Keystone Experts & Engineers in the United States seeks licensed (PE) Civil and Structural Engineers with forensic investigation experience to determine causes and origins of site issues, including design and construction defects and weather-related damage. This is a fully remote, part-time, 1099 contracted position.

Ideal candidates will conduct site evaluations, document structural and architectural systems, and provide actionable findings for insurance claims or litigation.

Qualifications

• Active PE license required.
• Degree in civil or structural engineering or related field.
• Experience in forensic investigations and determining causes/origin of site issues.

Responsibilities

• Conduct investigations of accidents or disasters to determine causes and contributing factors.
• Evaluate damage from natural disasters such as earthquakes, hurricanes, wind events, hail storms or floods.
• Ensure proper maintenance and construction of affected building components and systems.
• Safely access roofs, attics and crawl spaces to photo document areas of interest.
• Identify and interview witnesses and/or other key parties involved.
• Prepare findings and recommendations for insurance claims or litigation matters.
