About the Role

Our client, a leading international engineering and construction firm, is expanding its digital workforce and seeking a highly skilled and motivated Remote Civil Project Manager with a strong geotechnical background. Key Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of civil engineering projects, from initiation and planning to execution, monitoring, control, and closure, with a focus on geotechnical aspects.
• Develop detailed project plans, including scope, budgets, timelines, and resource allocation, specifically addressing geotechnical requirements.
• Lead and coordinate remote project teams, including geotechnical engineers, site supervisors, and contractors, fostering a collaborative and productive environment.
• Monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure project objectives are met.
• Oversee the procurement process for services and materials related to geotechnical investigations and earthworks.
• Ensure strict adherence to all relevant engineering codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
• Manage client relationships and stakeholder communications, providing regular project updates and reports.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, with a Master's degree or significant postgraduate specialization in Geotechnical Engineering preferred.
• Professional registration with ECSA (e.g., Pr Eng, Pr CPM) is highly desirable.
• A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in civil engineering project management, with at least 4 years focused on geotechnical projects (e.g., slope stability, foundation design, ground improvement).
• Proven experience managing projects remotely, utilizing collaboration tools and virtual project management platforms.
• Demonstrated experience in contract negotiation and management.
• Strong understanding of geotechnical investigation techniques and interpretation of soil mechanics data.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage diverse and geographically dispersed teams.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6) and collaboration tools (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Slack).
• Ability to work autonomously, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines in a remote setting.
• Must have a reliable internet connection and a suitable home office environment.
