About the Role

Our client, a globally recognized geotechnical consulting firm, is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join their team on a fully remote basis. This pivotal role will involve leading complex geotechnical investigations and providing expert analysis and design recommendations for a diverse range of projects, including large-scale infrastructure, commercial developments, and specialized industrial facilities across various regions. The successful candidate will leverage advanced geotechnical software and methodologies to assess ground conditions, manage site investigations, and develop robust foundation and earthworks designs. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage geotechnical site investigations, including planning, execution, and data interpretation.
• Conduct advanced geotechnical analyses for foundation design (deep and shallow), slope stability, retaining structures, and earthworks.
• Prepare comprehensive geotechnical investigation reports, design reports, and technical specifications.
• Liaise directly with clients, project managers, and other engineering disciplines to provide expert advice and solutions.
• Ensure compliance with relevant geotechnical standards, codes, and best practices.
• Review and approve geotechnical designs and reports prepared by junior engineers.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a remote team of geotechnical professionals.
• Manage project schedules and budgets for geotechnical scopes of work.
• Contribute to business development efforts, including proposal writing and client presentations.
• Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in geotechnical engineering.

Requirements

• Master's degree or PhD in Geotechnical Engineering or a closely related field.
• Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) registration with ECSA is required.
• A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in geotechnical engineering, with a significant track record in leading complex projects.
• Expertise in numerical modeling software for geotechnical analysis (e.g., Plaxis 2D/3D, GeoStudio Suite).
• Proven experience in the interpretation of ground investigation data (boreholes, CPTs, geophysical surveys).
• Strong understanding of soil mechanics, rock mechanics, and engineering geology.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, essential for effective remote collaboration.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously and independently.
• Experience in diverse geological settings and project types is advantageous.
• Proficiency in project management tools and remote collaboration platforms.
