Job summary

Brown and Caldwell is seeking a Civil Estimator for remote work focused on water and wastewater projects. The role emphasizes applying estimating best practices, detailed quantity takeoffs, and robust database management to support reliable cost estimates.

The position requires at least 2 years in estimating or related fields, with experience in WBS detailing and construction scheduling using MS Project or Primavera P6. A bachelor’s degree in construction or civil engineering is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of estimating or related work experience.
• Experience detailing a work breakdown structure and construction schedules in MS Project or Primavera P6.
• Field experience as Construction Manager, Field PM, Superintendent, Foreman, or Resident PM in an engineering or contracting setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform quantity takeoff procedures following estimating best practices.
• Utilize estimating software applications to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
• Support the estimate planning and process for varying project circumstances.
• Develop understanding of geographical and contingency factors in estimates.
• Address delivery resources and productivity factors within the job estimate.
• Stay updated with water and water/wastewater design and construction knowledge.
• Help maintain estimating databases with accurate, relevant information.
• Adapt and execute additional assignments as needed.
• Mentor and support less-experienced team members.
