Job summary

Saige Partners in Des Moines, IA seeks a Civil Engineering Team Leader to build and manage a high-performing team focused on municipal and private development projects. Lead client relations and project delivery from inception through closeout.

The role emphasizes growth of client relationships, proposal development, and contract negotiation, with a healthcare of ESOP and strong benefits. PE licensure and 8+ years of civil engineering experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Iowa or ability to obtain Iowa licensure.
• Minimum 8 years of progressive civil engineering experience.
• At least 5 years of experience managing projects, leading teams, and/or driving business development.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, develop, mentor, and lead a growing team of civil engineering professionals.
• Provide leadership and technical oversight for municipal infrastructure and private development projects.
• Build and strengthen client relationships while identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
• Lead business development efforts, including networking, proposals, RFP responses, presentations, and contract negotiations.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, stakeholders, and subconsultants throughout project lifecycles.
• Oversee project execution, quality control, scheduling, and financial performance.
• Provide technical guidance, coaching, and professional development opportunities for engineering staff.
• Collaborate with executive leadership to execute strategic growth initiatives and expand the firm's presence within the Central Iowa market.
