Job summary

Alignerr is seeking a Chinese Language Expert (AI Training) to evaluate and improve AI systems for Chinese language learning. This remote, hourly contract role requires strong linguistic judgment and the ability to work asynchronously at a minimum of 15 hours per week.

You will evaluate AI-generated Chinese speech and text for accuracy and educational quality, assess learner language across CEFR levels, and provide clear feedback to improve tutoring models.

Qualifications

• Native-level proficiency in Chinese
• Experience teaching Chinese or evaluating learner language
• Fluent in English (C1/C2)
• Familiar with CEFR frameworks
• Enrolled in or completed a Bachelor's degree or higher
• Strong attention to detail and consistency in linguistic judgment
• No prior AI experience required

Responsibilities

• Evaluate AI-generated Chinese speech and text for linguistic accuracy, naturalness, and educational quality
• Assess learner speech and writing across proficiency levels from CEFR Pre-A1 through B2+
• Identify learner errors, unnatural phrasing, and pedagogical gaps with expert precision
• Provide clear, structured feedback that directly improves AI tutoring and language-learning models
• Collaborate asynchronously with project leads and fellow language experts
• Contribute to raising the overall quality and reliability of AI language instruction
