Job summary

FluentU seeks a native Chinese content editor to craft engaging language-learning content for our users. You will curate Chinese language videos, transcribe captions, translate them into English, annotate words with definitions and example sentences, and build vocabulary flashcards and courses.

You will also help script YouTube and lesson videos, adapt to Asana/Slack, and collaborate with editors in our fully remote distributed team.

Qualifications

• Native Chinese speaker with strong command of Chinese/English grammar.
• At least 1 year of experience in Chinese education, translation, or linguistics.
• Experience with content editing and writing for language-learning materials.
• Willingness to participate in voice-over work.
• Experience working in a distributed, remote team.
• Strong written communication and attention to detail.
• Commitment to 15–20 hours per week long-term.

Responsibilities

• Create Chinese learning content: curate videos, transcripts, translations, vocab sets.
• Annotate words, define terms, write example sentences.
• Help write scripts for YouTube videos and lessons.
• Adapt to platforms like Asana and Slack.
• Collaborate with editors to deliver language-learning services.
