Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is seeking a Child Welfare Trainer to strengthen statewide training across Regions 1–3. You will deliver regionally assigned training to county DSS staff using approved curricula and support program standards.

You will develop/refine materials reflecting NC child welfare practice and evaluate training effectiveness through assessments and participant feedback.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a discipline relative to the program and three years of related experience
• Bachelor’s degree in a discipline relative to the program area and five years of related experience
• Equivalent combination of education and related experience may qualify

Responsibilities

• Deliver regionally assigned child welfare training to county DSS agencies using approved curricula and standards
• Develop and refine training materials reflecting NC child welfare policy and statewide objectives
• Evaluate training effectiveness via assessments, feedback, and data analysis
• Provide technical assistance to county DSS staff to reinforce skill development and policy application
• Coordinate with Division leadership and partners to align training with statewide priorities
• Interpret program standards and communicate updates to ensure compliance with state/federal mandates
• Incorporate evidence-informed strategies into curriculum design and facilitation
• Prepare reports summarizing activities, needs, and improvement recommendations
• Establish relationships with county DSS leadership and trainers to support delivery
• Plan travel and training logistics across Regions 1, 2, and 3
