Job summary

Department of Economic Security (DES) is seeking a Child Support Specialist Intermediate to perform full-range journey-level case management, focusing on establishing paternity, orders, and enforcement for Arizona families. Remote work may be available within Arizona based on business needs and performance.

The role requires handling custodial and non-custodial cases, reviewing files, and coordinating with courts and agencies to ensure timely support outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience performing the full range of journey-level child support case management.
• Ability to establish paternity, establish orders, review orders for modification, and enforce orders.
• Experience working with custodial and non-custodial parents to resolve cases.

Responsibilities

• Locate absent parents to collect and enforce child support obligations/payments.
• Review and analyze case files.
• Determine appropriate legal actions to be initiated; prepare and file pleadings for court actions.
• Interview individuals who are parties to the case.
• Collect child support for distribution to the applicant or state.
• Collect pertinent documents and information; draft correspondence.
• Communicate with various judicial jurisdictions.
• Assist in on-the-job training and provide technical assistance to subordinate staff.
