Job summary

Maximus is seeking a Chief Engineer to own end-to-end technical integrity of enterprise systems, including CRM, ERP, and platform operations. This remote role emphasizes architecture discipline, DevSecOps, and proactive modernization across multiple teams and vendors.

The incumbent will drive technical standards, manage budgets, and partner with leaders to prioritize capabilities and transformations, ensuring mission readiness and contractual compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in engineering or related field.
• 12+ years of progressive engineering experience.
• Proven experience leading enterprise application strategy, architecture, engineering, integration, modernization, and operations.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise CRM and ERP platforms, preferably Salesforce and/or Deltek Costpoint.
• Experience with enterprise architecture, APIs, integration, DevSecOps, CI/CD, testing, and release management.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to brief senior/executive stakeholders.
• Experience managing technology budgets, licensing, vendors, professional services, and workforce planning.

Responsibilities

• Own technical integrity of the system across software, infrastructure, networks, data, security, and operations.
• Lead application engineering, platform operations, integration, DevSecOps, and release management.
• Drive platform modernization, automation, reuse, and technical debt reduction.
• Ensure security, reliability, performance, resilience, and compliance of platforms.
• Foster collaboration with business and technology leaders on capabilities and transformations.
• Build and lead high-performing teams with clear accountability and standards.
