Job summary

Bright Vision Technologies is seeking a Chief Software Engineer to lead enterprise-wide architectural initiatives and define long-term technology strategy. You will deliver scalable, highly available distributed systems and mentor senior engineers across multiple teams.

The role requires deep expertise in system design, performance engineering, and cross-organizational leadership, with a focus on modernization and strategic tech decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Ten or more years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proven expertise designing distributed, high-scale systems in production.
• Advanced proficiency in Java, Go, C++, or similar backend languages.
• Deep understanding of data modeling, system optimization, and performance tuning.
• Experience leading cross-team technical initiatives across multiple business units.
• Strong expertise in reliability engineering and distributed architectures.
• Demonstrated leadership in architectural decision-making at enterprise scale.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Track record of mentoring senior engineers and shaping engineering culture.

Responsibilities

• Define enterprise-level architectural standards and guardrails across multiple business units.
• Lead design of scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems at global scale.
• Architect multi-region platforms with focus on availability and disaster recovery.
• Drive modernization including microservices and platform consolidation.
• Define API governance, data architecture, and service communication patterns.
• Design systems for big scale, high availability, and security with capacity planning.
• Evaluate high-performance data storage solutions for major workloads.
• Lead reliability engineering and incident response improvements enterprise-wide.
• Conduct architectural reviews and performance audits across platforms.
• Guide teams on concurrency, observability, and optimization strategies.
• Design observability frameworks and standard metrics/logs/traces.
• Define DevOps, CI/CD, and automation strategy across platforms.
• Partner with leadership on technology roadmap decisions.
• Mentor Staff and Senior Engineers and contribute to talent growth.
• Drive innovation and evaluate emerging technologies for strategic adoption.
• Lead resolution of critical system-level production issues.
