Job summary

Kraken is a fully remote company with teams worldwide. As the leader for Kraken’s financial systems, you’ll translate Finance priorities into a clear technical roadmap, drive modernization, and mentor high-performing engineers.

You will collaborate with Accounting, Treasury, and Product to ensure reliable, auditable financial data and scalable solutions across fiat and crypto platforms. In the first year, you’ll establish robust reconciliation processes, define ownership, and map data lineage

Qualifications

• Significant software engineering and technical leadership experience guiding complex financial systems or data architecture changes.
• Proven ability to hire, coach, and develop specialists with clear ownership and high engineering standards.
• Deep understanding of ledgers, reconciliation, and auditable financial records.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering vision for Kraken’s financial systems and translate Finance priorities into a technical roadmap.
• Define target architecture, assess data landscape, and plan phased transformations.
• Build and coach a team of specialists across financial systems, data engineering, and integrations.
• Establish data completeness, lineage, and governance across source events to reporting.
