Job summary
Annual Reviews seeks a dynamic leader to drive the organization’s mission in scholarly publishing and communications. The President will shape strategic direction, collaborate with the Board, editors, and staff, and advance AR’s journals and services while upholding governance and integrity.
The role requires extensive senior leadership experience, a track record in nonprofit governance, and a commitment to open access principles, with travel to engage globally and strengthen partnerships.
Qualifications
- 10 years senior leadership experience in scholarly publishing or related fields.
- Experience with Open Access models.
- Ability to set strategic objectives with the Board.
- Experience working with governing boards.
- Strong management and cross-functional collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Lead AR's operations and activities with the Board, editors, and staff.
- Develop strategic objectives and priorities with the Board of Directors.
- Ensure compliance with laws, policies, and governance requirements.
- Provide leadership for the intellectual direction and impact of AR's journals.
- Represent AR in global scholarly and publishing communities.
- Manage a team of 10 department directors and an executive assistant.
- Drive revenue diversification and partnerships to support the mission.
