Job summary

TNTP is seeking a Chief Communications and External Affairs Officer to lead external affairs, shaping TNTP’s narrative, brand, and strategic communications to advance enterprise priorities and measurable impact.

You will oversee integrated marketing, media, publications, campaigns, events, and internal communications initiatives that galvanize support for redesigning education systems nationwide.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of senior leadership experience in communications, external affairs, marketing, or public affairs within education or nonprofit environments.
• Exceptional writing and narrative expertise for executive-level communications.
• Ability to translate complex organizational strategies into clear narratives for diverse stakeholders.
• Experience serving as a senior organizational spokesperson with a credible media presence.

Responsibilities

• Design and lead TNTP’s external affairs strategy to build national support for education system redesign.
• Direct executive communications, speeches, publications, and high-stakes correspondence.
• Represent TNTP in major forums as a senior external spokesperson.
• Oversee brand strategy, media partnerships, and national storytelling initiatives.
• Lead internal communications to align culture, priorities, and progress across the organization.
