Job summary

New Teacher Center seeks a Senior Director, Advancement and Communications to lead external communications strategy, ensure brand consistency, and amplify NTC’s reputation in K-12 education.

Reporting to the VP of Advancement, you will guide content across channels, work with fundraising and leadership, and build an inclusive, high-performing team. This role emphasizes data-driven storytelling and cross-department collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
• 12+ years of related nonprofit communications experience.
• 5+ years of people management experience.
• Excellent writing and editing; ability to translate complex info for any audience.
• Experience analyzing data to identify marketing opportunities and strategy.
• Experience with multi-channel content marketing and brand-building.

Responsibilities

• Develop external communications strategy aligned to goals and audiences.
• Oversee writing, editing, and design across channels to ensure timely, accurate messaging.
• Advise Leadership on internal and external communications.
• Lead cross-team efforts to measure KPIs and external landscape data.
• Collaborate with fundraising to target philanthropic audiences and report to Leadership and Board.
• Manage content teams and drive development through feedback and coaching.
