Job summary

Alignerr is seeking a Chemistry Subject Matter Expert to help evaluate and improve AI training with advanced chemistry knowledge. This remote, hourly contract role offers flexible scheduling and meaningful, cutting-edge work.

You will design and review chemistry problems and solutions, collaborate with researchers, and provide clear, written feedback to guide AI benchmarks spanning undergraduate to Master’s level topics. No AI experience required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry or a closely related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills across advanced chemistry domains.
• Ability to communicate complex scientific concepts clearly in writing.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented and capable of working independently.

Responsibilities

• Design challenging chemistry problems across organic, biochemistry, chemical engineering and physical chemistry.
• Develop clear, rigorous step-by-step solutions demonstrating sound scientific logic.
• Evaluate AI-generated outputs for accuracy, depth of reasoning and scientific validity.
• Identify gaps or weaknesses in AI approaches to chemistry concepts.
• Collaborate with researchers to refine benchmarks spanning undergrad to Master’s topics.
• Provide structured written feedback to improve AI model performance.
