Alignerr is seeking a Chemistry Subject Matter Expert to help design and evaluate AI systems for chemistry problems. This remote, hourly contract role leverages your deep knowledge from undergraduate through graduate-level topics and does not require prior AI experience.

You will craft rigorous problems, create solution walkthroughs, and assess AI outputs for accuracy and reasoning while collaborating with research teams across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or have completed a Master’s degree (or higher) in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or a closely related field.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical reasoning skills across advanced chemistry domains.
• Able to communicate complex scientific concepts clearly and precisely in writing.
• Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently and asynchronously.
• No prior AI or machine learning experience required.

Responsibilities

• Design rigorous, advanced chemistry problems to test and benchmark AI performance across domains such as chemical engineering, biochemistry, and physical chemistry.
• Develop clear, step-by-step solution walkthroughs with precise, logical reasoning.
• Evaluate AI-generated outputs for scientific accuracy, depth, and quality of reasoning.
• Collaborate with researchers to refine benchmarks spanning undergraduate to Master’s-level chemistry topics.
• Provide structured, actionable feedback that helps improve AI model capabilities.
