Job summary

LanguageLine Solutions is hiring remote English-Chaochow interpreters to work from home in the United States. This independent contractor role requires fluency in Chaochow and English, with strong cultural sensitivity and the ability to handle high-emotion calls, including emergency 911 scenarios.

Training will be provided; advancement opportunities exist within an inclusive, diverse environment. Compensation is paid per minute, with no benefits due to contractor status.

Qualifications

• Fluency in Chaochow and English, with strong cultural awareness.
• Must be 18 years or older and legally eligible to work in the US.
• Ability to work from home with quiet, secure environment.

Responsibilities

• Respond to interpreting sessions promptly and conduct interpretation in a friendly and professional manner.
• Render correct concepts and meanings according to interpretation protocol, avoiding omissions or additions.
• Speak clearly in both languages with proper pronunciation and polite expressions.
• Maintain a professional demeanor throughout interpreting sessions.
• Remain calm during sessions, especially in emergency situations such as 911 calls.
• Maintain punctuality and availability during work hours.
• Follow client instructions to meet expectations for LEP clients.
• Understand protocol and terminology across healthcare, government, insurance, finance and law.
