The University of Virginia is seeking an oncology data specialist to provide essential cancer statistics and support cancer initiatives in accordance with health standards. This position involves clinical documentation abstraction, assists Cancer Committee planning, and additional responsibilities in the Cancer Registry area.
Provides basic cancer statistics and graphs to support research, prevention, and control initiatives according to the Virginia Department of Health, the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer standards, and the organizational priorities of the University of Virginia Health System.
Position Compensation Range: $22.84 - $36.54 Hourly
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent required. Associate’s Degree in Allied Health preferred.
Experience: 2 years’ relevant experience preferred.
Licensure: Certified Tumor Registrar or Oncology Data Specialist through the National Cancer Registrar Association (NCRA) required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job may occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings and programs.
