Job summary

Gainwell Technologies in the United States is seeking a Certified Senior Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacy benefit operations in a fully remote role. You will process prior authorizations, research inquiries, and coach pharmacy technicians while delivering high-quality member and provider service.

The role requires an active PT/CPhT or equivalent, 2+ years of experience, and the ability to navigate multiple systems remotely.

Qualifications

• Active Certified Pharmacy Technician credential (PTCB/CPhT, ExCPT, or equivalent) required.
• Two (2) or more years of relevant pharmacy technician experience, preferably in managed care or health insurance.
• Experience with pharmacy prior authorizations, prescription claims, medication terminology, and member/provider/pharmacy support.
• Experience training, coaching, mentoring, or serving as a subject matter resource for pharmacy technicians or healthcare operations staff (preferred).
• Strong communication, research, problem-solving, computer, and organizational skills in a fast-paced remote environment.

Responsibilities

• Review, research, and process pharmacy prior authorization requests per criteria, policies, and SLAs.
• Research and resolve member, provider, and pharmacy inquiries and escalations with accurate information and follow-up.
• Document calls, authorization activity, inquiries, and resolutions while maintaining HIPAA/PHI compliance.
• Serve as a subject matter resource and support training, continuing education, coaching, and development of technician team members.
• Monitor quality and trends, identify opportunities for improvement, and collaborate with leadership on goals.
