Job summary

Firstsource Healthcare is seeking a Certified Coding Specialist to review clinical documentation and assign accurate ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT and HCPCS codes for inpatient and outpatient facility services. You will support denials, front-end edits and appeals while ensuring compliance with payer policies and regulatory guidelines.

The role requires knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, HCPCS, NCCI edits and coder workflow, with strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Active CPC, COC, CCS, or CIC certification is required.
• Experience coding inpatient and outpatient facility accounts.
• Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and payer guidelines.
• Experience with coding encoders and EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Review inpatient, outpatient, ED, observation, surgery and ancillary records.
• Assign ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, HCPCS and modifier codes.
• Review coding edits and work queues prior to submission.
• Validate documentation supports code assignment and query providers when needed.
• Support denials, appeals and front-end rejections with accurate coding.
