Job summary

Datavant is seeking a Clinical Documentation Quality Improvement (CDQI) Specialist in Honolulu, HI to elevate medical record documentation across inpatient records. You will review progress notes, collaborate with physicians, and educate teams on documentation best practices to improve DRG accuracy and reimbursement.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years CDI and clinical nursing experience, an RN license, and CCDS/CDIP certifications.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of CDI experience.
• 3+ years of clinical nursing in an academic medical center.
• RN license and Bachelor's in Nursing required.
• CCDS or CDIP certification required.
• Must pass a CDI skills competency assessment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct timely, accurate documentation reviews for inpatient records.
• Collaborate with physicians to ensure appropriate reimbursement and clinical severity.
• Demonstrate understanding of complications, severity of illness, case mix index, and DRG impact.
• Educate physicians and caregivers on documentation quality to improve coding specificity.
• Follow AHA guidelines and coding clinics for accurate coding and documentation.
• Query physicians to obtain missing or unclear health record details.
• Maintain daily production logs and perform follow-up reviews for clarifications.
• Ensure confidentiality of all files and records.
• Meet or exceed production and quality metrics.
