Job summary

CommonSpirit Health is seeking a Team Lead, CDI to provide day-to-day operational leadership for a team of CDI specialists. You will guide performance, ensure documentation accuracy, and support revenue cycle optimization while aligning with enterprise CDI standards.

This hands-on leadership role emphasizes collaboration with coding, quality, and physician leadership. The ideal candidate has strong CDI background, leadership potential, excellent communication, and the ability to mentor staff

Qualifications

Requires Associate’s degree in nursing, HIM, or related healthcare field.
Certifications in CDI or coding (e.g., CCDS, CDIP, CCS, RHIA, RHIT, CIC).
Minimum 3 years CDI experience in acute care hospital or large multi-facility system.
Demonstrated expertise in CDI, DRG methodology, SOI/ROM, and quality indicators.
Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, disease processes, medical terminology, and CDI standards.

Responsibilities

Provide daily operational leadership to CDI staff, with workflow prioritization and issue resolution.
Serve as CDI subject matter expert on complex cases, DRG validation, SOI/ROM, and documentation opportunities.
Monitor team performance, productivity, and quality metrics, supporting improvement initiatives.
Review CDI work for accuracy and compliant documentation; assist with onboarding and ongoing education.
Liaise with coding, quality, and physician leadership to promote documentation integrity and CDI workflows.
Promote a professional remote work environment and adhere to ethical standards.
