Qualifications

• Two years of inpatient CDI experience in a production CDI role within the last 12 months.
• Must have CCDS or CDIP certification and RHIT/CCS/CCS-P/RN or related anatomy/physiology coursework.
• Demonstrated analytical thinking and problem solving.
• Effective verbal and written communication with physicians and health care team.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Able to collaborate with others in a challenging environment.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Review patient records to capture accurate severity of illness and coding.
• Support risk adjustment methodologies and CMS measures (mortality, readmissions).
• Collaborate with physicians, coding, case management, and nursing staff.
• Identify documentation gaps and educate staff to improve quality.
• Ensure compliance with coding and billing regulations.
