Job summary

Clarity Partners is hiring a Clinical Documentation Specialist to support a large scale client-facing project. You will work under limited direction to improve the quality and completeness of clinical documentation in the legal medical record, interfacing with physicians, HIM, and coding staff.

The role focuses on ensuring accurate documentation for appropriate reimbursement and SOI/ROM, with a remote setting and collaboration across departments.

Qualifications

• Valid RN license or CDI credentials (RHIA/RHIT/CCS) are required.
• 1 year acute care (inpatient) concurrent clinical documentation experience is required.
• CCDS or CDIP credential is required.
• Experience with concurrent inpatient facility coding/clinical documentation improvement is required.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate documentation in the medical record through collaboration with physicians, HIM, and coding staff to optimize reimbursement and SOI/ROM.
• Educate physicians on clinical documentation needs and guideline changes to improve coding and reimbursement opportunities.
• Apply medical terminology to evaluate documents for accuracy and reimbursement potential.
• Perform concurrent inpatient medical record monitoring to validate documentation accuracy and obtain missing information via queries.
