Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) or related field required; experience accepted in lieu of degree.
3+ years Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) specialist training or risk adjustment experience; clinical coding knowledge required.
2+ years chart reviews in electronic medical records, supporting quality improvements, and educational material creation/presentation required.
RN license preferred; Coding credentials (CRC, CPC or CCS) preferred.

Responsibilities

Review medical records and treatment plans to ensure alignment with guidelines and standards.
Participate in department quality improvement initiatives.
Assess medical record documentation for accuracy and completeness; apply analytical skills.
Provide clinician-specific education on quality, outcomes improvement, documentation standards, and clinical process improvements.
