Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking a Clinical Documentation Specialist for a remote position that requires residence in Kentucky or Indiana. You will evaluate physician documentation to ensure accurate severity of illness and improve coding specificity across medical records.

You will guide physicians, nursing and ancillary staff on clinical documentation best practices, maintain timely assignments during workflow fluctuations, and apply medical terminology, record organization and data retrieval skills.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with active Kentucky license.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; 3 years acute health care nursing including 1 year in clinical documentation, or ADN with 5 years in acute health care nursing.
• ACDIS CCDS or CDIP strongly encouraged.
• Knowledge of medical record organization and terminology.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate physician documentation to ensure accuracy of illness severity and coding specificity.
• Provide guidance to physicians, nursing and ancillary staff on clinical documentation best practices.
