Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System is seeking a CDI Quality Reviewer to perform comprehensive secondary chart reviews to identify documentation opportunities and ensure accurate coding and case mix. The role acts as a liaison between coding and CDI to resolve DRG discrepancies and to educate the CDI team.

The ideal candidate will have a nursing background (BSN required, MSN preferred), at least 3 years in CDI, and experience with AHIMA guidelines.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of CDI experience required.
• AHIMA ICD-10-CM/PCS Trainer is preferred.
• CDI auditing, denial and Vizient experience preferred.
• Experience with Epic EMR preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive secondary clinical chart reviews to identify missed opportunities for documentation clarification.
• Acts as liaison between Coding and CDI to resolve DRG/code discrepancies.
• Educates CDI team based on opportunities identified in second-level reviews.
• Collaborates with clinicians to improve documentation quality and accuracy.
