Optum Insight is seeking a Service Area Director, Clinical Documentation Integrity to lead a high-volume CDI program across six hospitals in Arizona and Nevada. This role collaborates with hospital leadership to improve documentation accuracy and clinical reporting while managing on-site engagement with client teams and remote coordination across the U.S.

The position requires strong clinical CDI expertise, leadership experience, and the ability to drive process improvements using enterprise AI

Qualifications

• CCDS or CDIP certification is required.
• 5+ years of acute care hospital clinical RN experience OR medical graduate with CDI experience and CDI certification.
• 2+ years of leadership experience.
• Advanced analytics and reporting experience (Excel, dashboards).
• Travel 30–40% to client sites.

Responsabilités

• Oversee CDI operations across six hospitals (AZ + NV).
• Drive program performance through KPIs, reporting, and operational oversight.
• Partner with hospital executives (CFO, CMO, clinical leadership).
• Lead client-facing meetings, escalations, and strategic discussions.
• Ensure staffing, workflows, and quality outcomes for CDI.
• Provide CDI education to providers and staff.
