Job summary

Enjoin is seeking a CDI Consultant to audit inpatient records, validate ICD-10 coding, and ensure compliant, accurate reimbursements. This fully remote Advisory team role collaborates with Enjoin physicians to review DRG recommendations and develop evidence-based rationales.

The position requires CDI experience, HIM/Nav credentials, and strong analytical/written communication skills, with EHR proficiency and MS-Office expertise. Remote work with secure home office is provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management and/or an RN license; other health degrees considered.
• CCDS, CDIP, or CCS certification plus RN license or RHIA.
• At least five years of direct CDI experience in acute care or ambulatory settings.
• Experience with ICD-10-CM/PCS, MS-DRG methodologies, and physician query processes.

Responsibilities

• Audit inpatient records to validate coding accuracy and DRG assignments.
• Review documentation, meds, labs, and orders to identify gaps and generate physician queries.
• Discuss potential DRG changes with Enjoin physicians before client submissions.
• Write audit rationales aligned with ICD-10 guidelines and AHA Coding Clinic guidance.
• Follow AHIMA/ACDIS guidance and stay current on coding updates and client requirements.
• Use client reports and encoder tools to complete reviews and document findings.
• Meet deadlines and maintain a minimum productivity of three chart reviews per hour.
• Maintain engagement workpapers and contribute to process improvements.
