Job summary

YipitData is hiring a Data Classification Associate to lead end-to-end category hierarchies, refine taxonomies across millions of SKUs, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data accuracy. You’ll become a domain expert on products, brands, and classification rules, while driving AI-enabled improvements and robust QA processes.

This remote-friendly role can sit in NYC or anywhere in the US, with East Coast work hours and potential NY state tax withholding depending on location.

Qualifications

• Strong data analysis and data quality focus.
• Experience building and refining product taxonomies.
• Ability to translate complex problems for clients and internal teams.
• Familiarity with AI-enabled classification approaches is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own category hierarchies end-to-end and ensure accuracy.
• Build and refine product taxonomies across large datasets.
• Develop deep knowledge of products, brands, and classification rules.
• Design and run QA processes to catch error patterns.
• Diagnose and fix data quality problems independently.
• Be the client-facing expert on category data.
