Job summary

Optima Dermatology is seeking a Cash Posting Specialist to join our Practice Support Center in Portsmouth, NH. The role involves processing third-party reimbursements via EFT, checks, or patient portals, with focus on posting, adjustments, and balancing to ensure accurate accounts receivable records.

The position requires 1–4 years of payment handling experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; business administration or accounting knowledge preferred
• 1–4 years of experience in handling payments and balancing accounts
• Clear and professional communication skills (oral and written)
• Ability to work collaboratively with patients, external parties, and internal departments
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize duties in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Review daily Excel file of all customer payments from the bank
• Accurately apply lockbox payments to customer accounts and note exceptions for research
• Communicate with internal accounts receivable staff including billing and collections
• Key manual checks received in the office
• Receive payments electronically, by paper check, and by credit card
• Post payments accurately and promptly
• Complete daily balancing to batch sheet
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager/director
