Job summary

Cardiac Study Center/ Pulse Heart Institute – Puyallup, WA is hiring a Medical Coder for general and specialty cardiology. The role is full-time, Monday–Friday with in-office training for 90 days; remote work becomes available after training.

Candidates must live within 50 miles of Tacoma and hold CPC or CCS credentials, with knowledge of ICD/CPT coding and Epic. You will collect charges from physicians and ARNPs, assign correct codes, and submit entries into Epic to support cash flow.

Qualifications

• CPC or CCS credentials required.
• Knowledge of ICD and CPT coding and medical terminology.
• Knowledge of billing practices and clinic operating policies.
• Knowledge of accounts receivable practices.
• Cardiology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect and process charges for physicians and ARNPs in Epic, ensuring accurate submissions.
• Audit charts to verify all reportable services are captured.
• Coordinate with coding staff to assign correct ICD and CPT codes and modifiers.
• Maintain daily updates in Epic to promote cash flow and address coding issues.
• Manage monthly charge reconciliations and resolve billing discrepancies.
• Provide coding guidance and assist with documentation for audits.
