Registry Partners is seeking an STS Adult Cardiac Abstractor for a part-time remote role in the United States. The position requires familiarity with STS abstraction guidelines and the ability to document complex data accurately.

You will work with project teams to ensure timely, high-quality data abstraction across multiple registry projects. The ideal candidate has 1 year of experience in data abstraction, solid documentation skills, and proficiency with EMR systems and data abstraction tools.

General Description:
The Data Abstractor ll (DAll) is responsible for remote abstracting and registry operations and related tasks as assigned. Additionally, the DAll is responsible for following the guidelines published in the project parameters/roadmap document, Quality Management Validation Policy and Procedure and working within the established productivity guidelines for each assigned project and case type. The DAll is accountable for their committed work hours for each project assignment and in assisting the management team with meeting the goals and deadlines for each assigned project.

Qualifications:

• Two or more years of current abstraction experience in the Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) Adult Cardiac Surgery Database Registry, required.
• Proficient in industry related clinical registry data abstraction specifications manuals, data abstraction software systems and electronic medical record applications
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and/or Google products
• Exposure to quality improvement concepts and processes, preferred.
• RN, RHIA/ RHIT, CPHQ, preferred

Essential Duties/Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

• Follows the project parameter/project roadmap document as the individual job description for each project assignment in conjunction with utilizing all industry related reference manuals (data abstraction specification manuals/resources), interpreting and applying all rules successfully.
• Stays current on abstraction requirements and specifications at all times.
• Consults industry related Q & A resources as needed and consults with Registry Partners Management/Validation teams for abstracting questions/clarifications as needed.
• Takes part in other registry operations tasks as assigned (i.e., follow up activities) by following standard operating procedures.
• Meets defined Quality Standards after acclimating to a new project, for each case type assigned.
• Meets defined Productivity Standards within four weeks of abstracting on a new project for each case type assigned.
• Meets Productivity Standards for registry operations tasks as defined for each project assignment.

Other Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

• Provide timely responses to questions or concerns communicated by the Registry Partners project and validation management teams, executive management team, and corporate office team.
• Understands and follows all Registry Partners internal corporate policies and procedures and client-based policies and procedures as requested.
• Utilize the Registry Partners secure server and project folders/subfolders as the primary communication exchange for all assigned projects.
• All other duties as assigned.
