Job summary

Cable One is hiring for an Engineering Designer to design, map, and support fiber networks. You will prepare detailed CAD/GIS drawings and work with Technical Operations, Construction and Engineering to meet specs.

Applicants should have up to two years of drafting experience, a HS diploma or equivalent, and completed Systems Technician and NCTI Fiber courses. Training at Cable One Center may be required. Remote-friendly role with strong benefits.

Qualifications

Up to two years’ experience in drafting/design.
HS diploma or equivalent required.
Valid driver’s license required.
Completion of Systems Technician course.
Completion of NCTI Fiber Testing & Maintenance course.
Cable One Technical Training Center system course (as applicable).

Responsibilities

Provide design support within a defined area or region.
Update As-Builts as construction is completed and releases the area.
Perform base drafting.
Create accurate network maps and detailed electronic construction prints.
Prepare layouts, drawings and designs according to engineering specifications.
Make design decisions regarding construction and safety methods per Cable One and regulatory standards.
Coordinate project planning and site surveys with multiple stakeholders.
Estimate material and labor costs for fiber and coax projects up to the patch panel or customer premise.
