Responsibilities

• Review sketches and specifications to create detailed renderings.

• Maintain company CAD file structures and drawing revisions.

Job description

The Designer will be responsible for the generation of drawings and designs using AutoCAD to support complex projects for the company. The Designer will work closely with the engineering and operations teams to create and modify design concepts, determine the nature and type of required detailed drawings needed, and coordinate work with team members and other teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for reviewing sketches, concept plans, specifications, and taking verbal instructions into detailed renderings and geographic representations with the use of AutoCAD.
• In collaboration with the engineering team, this position will design Fiber Optic transmission and distribution delivery systems.
• Work with the engineer and staff to update drawings per comments received through the permitting approval process.
• Analyzes and performs mark-ups of existing reports, maps, drawings, and other detailed construction data to plan and design projects.
• Collaborate with the engineering team staff to produce accurate and economical designs, standard details, and material lists.
• Maintains company CAD file structures, drawing revisions, and tracks how drawings are tracked in AutoCAD software.
• Stays up to date on all modern advancements in materials, software technologies, and trends.
• Performs research compilation of data and other designer-related tasks as necessary to support Engineering activities.
• Support the Design Manager and engineering team in all necessary capacities.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education / Experience

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 3+ years of experience within a progressive engineering design position.
• 2+ years of experience using AutoCAD
• 1+ years of experience working with ArcGIS

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Understanding of local codes and regulations.
• Strong technical skills, including understanding and proficiency in AutoCAD
• Proficiency in the use of computer software programs, including Microsoft Office.

Preferred

• Associate of Applied Science Degree.
• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
• Experience with residential and/or site development.
