Job summary

Leidos in Reston, VA is seeking a CAD/GIS Technician to support environmental investigations, remediation, engineering design, construction, and site restoration for government clients. You will develop detailed drawings and maps with AutoCAD/Civil 3D, translating field data into accurate deliverables.

Collaborate with engineers, environmental scientists, geologists, GIS staff, PMs, and field personnel to ensure drawings meet standards and support project goals.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical certification with 5+ years using CAD to develop drawings.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Able to interpret drawings, sketches, surveys and specs.
• Knowledge of drafting practices: layers, scales, dimensions, annotations.
• Able to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and organization.
• Able to communicate with engineers, scientists and project managers.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Able to meet government site access requirements.

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed engineering drawings, plans, and profiles using AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
• Prepare and revise AutoCAD/Civil 3D drawings and maps for projects.
• Convert sketches, field notes, survey data, and GIS data into CAD drawings.
• Incorporate geospatial data into CAD drawings as needed.
• Maintain drawing files, templates, layers, and standards.
• Perform quality checks for accuracy and completeness.
• Coordinate with engineers, scientists, PMs, GIS staff, and field teams.
• Organize project drawing libraries and document control.
• Support multiple projects and meet schedules and budgets.
