Job summary

Leonardo DRS, Inc. is seeking a Buyer II who will own CPSR-compliant purchasing, read military specs, and negotiate terms that protect the mission and budget. You will be embedded in our fast-moving supply chain team and handle requisitions, RFPs, and vendor relations to keep production on schedule.

You will manage cost savings, ensure audit-ready records, and support engineering changes while maintaining strong supplier partnerships and compliance across procurement documents.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in government purchasing.
• Ability to read blueprints and understand military specifications.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Execute CPSR-compliant purchase orders from approved requisitions and RFPs.
• Perform tactical purchasing duties to keep day-to-day activity moving.
• Drive supplier change follow-through on Engineering Change Notices to maintain schedule.
• Own supplier performance communication and resolve pricing, quality, timing, and contract disputes.
• Apply contract law knowledge and negotiate terms to protect mission and bottom line.
• Build and maintain supplier relationships as primary contact between DRS and vendors.
• Track demand and spend by commodity and report cost savings.
• Maintain audit-ready vendor agreements and procurement records.
