Leonardo DRS is seeking a Buyer II in Melbourne, FL. This full-time role focuses on CPSR-compliant purchasing, supplier performance, and clear communication between DRS and vendors. You will read military specs, manage change notices, and ensure timely, compliant procurement.

Embedded in a fast-moving supply chain team, you will balance cost savings with compliance and risk management while maintaining audit-ready vendor records and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2+ years of government purchasing experience.
• Ability to understand military specs and read blueprints.
• Knowledge of procurement laws, contracts, breaches, and compliance.
• Knowledge of price and cost analysis.

Responsibilities

• Execute CPSR-compliant purchases from approved requisitions and bids.
• Manage full range of tactical purchasing to keep operations moving.
• Coordinate Engineering Change Notices to align with schedule.
• Maintain supplier performance communication and resolve issues.
• Apply contract law knowledge to assess risk and terms.
• Maintain audit-ready vendor agreements and procurement records.
• Track demand and spend by commodity and report savings.
