Job summary

Slate is seeking an experienced Senior Buyer for High Voltage and Low Voltage wiring harnesses and electrical components. The role requires 8–10 years in procurement or supply chain, with automotive/manufacturing exposure preferred.

You will manage supplier relations, drive sourcing strategies, and lead negotiations to meet program cost targets and launch timing. A startup mindset thrives here, with cross-functional collaboration across Engineering, Manufacturing, and Program Management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Business, Engineering or related field.
• 8-10 years of experience in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or Engineering; automotive/manufacturing preferred.
• Proven experience sourcing automotive wiring harnesses and electrical components.
• Strong supplier negotiation and relationship management skills.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Plex, or similar platforms.

Responsibilities

• Manage a strategic supply base for high/low voltage wiring harnesses and electrical components.
• Source qualified supplier candidates, establish sourcing strategies and agreements.
• Lead supplier RFIs, RFQs, negotiations, and commercial agreements to meet targets.
• Ensure supplier production readiness and program timing.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Supplier Quality, Manufacturing, and Program Management to resolve issues.
• Perform cost analyses to identify cost reduction opportunities including value engineering.
• Monitor supplier performance and develop risk mitigation actions for launches.
• Ensure supplier compliance with global terms and commercial agreements.
• Identify critical risk components and develop mitigation strategies.
• Communicate supplier risks and sourcing priorities to internal stakeholders.
