Job summary

Rimkus is seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer for the Upstate New York region (Buffalo or Syracuse). This remote role requires travel 2–3 hours daily to client sites in NY and surrounding states.

The successful candidate will work on residential, commercial, and industrial projects, investigating causes of failures and providing detailed reports and expert opinions. Requirements include a 5+ years' experience, a NY PE license, and strong knowledge of building codes; a master's degree is

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering; master's preferred.
• 5+ years of engineering experience on residential, commercial, or industrial projects.
• NY Professional Engineer (PE) license required; additional licensing may be needed.
• Experience with building codes, construction details, and forensic investigations.
• Experience handling litigation and providing expert testimony is required.
• Ability to travel 2–3 hours daily; valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and analyze properties to determine causes of failure.
• Prepare oral and written reports documenting causes, extent of loss, and remediation.
• Provide opinions and expert testimony in litigated matters.
• Coordinate field investigations, site evaluations, and data collection.
• Maintain client relationships and facilitate project management.
