Job summary

Criterium-Twin Cities Engineers in Edina, MN seeks a Building Diagnostics & Structural Engineer, P.E., to evaluate existing residential and light-commercial buildings, document conditions, and prepare clear client reports.

This home-based, field-oriented role offers flexible full- or part-time schedules with 2–4 day options and local Twin Cities field assignments.

Eligible MN-PEs with strong communication and practical engineering judgment are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil, structural, or mechanical engineering.
• Active Minnesota P.E. license or ability to obtain within 6–12 months.
• Experience evaluating, designing, inspecting, or repairing residential/light-commercial buildings.
• Strong written and verbal communication of technical conclusions.
• Ability to perform field assessments safely (ladders, roofs, crawlspaces).

Responsibilities

• Evaluate existing residential and light-commercial buildings and document conditions.
• Prepare client-ready reports with clear, defensible conclusions.
• Perform limited residential/light-commercial structural calculations and repair recommendations.
• Explain findings to clients clearly and practically.
• Coordinate with engineers and operations staff on scope and schedule.
