OpenTrain AI is seeking a Building Code Plan Review Evaluator to create evaluation tasks from real permit drawings and site photos, producing structured deliverables such as correction letters and review decisions.

You will set the correct code-compliance judgments for each scenario, covering building, energy, accessibility, zoning, occupancy, and permit completeness topics, with strong attention to omissions.

Qualifications

• Current or recent building plans examiner, private plan reviewer, or code consultant experience.
• At least three years of direct permit plan review experience.
• ICC Building Plans Examiner certification at B1, B2, or B3 level (or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Create realistic plan review evaluation tasks grounded in actual permit review practice.
• Define the correct answer and code compliance judgment for each scenario.
• Write correction letters and review decisions.
• Mark up and measure permit drawing sets.
• Review permit drawings, documents, and site photos.
• Evaluate building, energy, accessibility, zoning, occupancy, and permit completeness issues.
• Perform discipline-based quality checks on review deliverables.
